The name YAQU PACHA is unusual. It is pronounced Jaku Patscha and comes from South America.
We are a non-profit organization based in Nuremberg and are committed to helping endangered mammals in Latin America that live in water. For example, we care for endangered dolphins, whales, manatees, seals, and the vaquita, which is threatened with extinction. Vaquitas are small porpoises that live in Mexico in the Gulf of California. There are only 6 to 9 of them left.

The La Plata dolphin is also endangered. It lives along the coasts of Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina. These animals are primarily threatened by bycatch, which means that they accidentally get caught in fishing nets.
We also protect river dolphins in the rainforests of South America. They have poor eyesight and navigate using echolocation. They have a flexible neck, which distinguishes them from other dolphins.
We also protect manatees. They live in rivers and the sea and feed on plants.
We also care for whales in South America. There are baleen whales and toothed whales. There are about 80 species of toothed whales in the world.
Our work is not easy, and we have to take care of many things at once to protect the animals.
We are glad that you are interested in our work. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
